As Senior R&D Project Manager you will develop or create products, systems, services, or technologies for Hitachi Energy´s Business Units by leading and managing the execution of one or more complex R&D projects or a program to meet project targets. In addition, you are going to coordinate work of multi-location and cross-functional project team/s and lead in partnership with business managers, steering groups, product management and external parties and ensure value creation.
Your responsibilities

Lead and Manage Projects : Oversee complex projects and coordinate multi-location, cross-functional teams. Motivate and monitor resources to accomplish tasks and milestones

Cost, Schedule, and Performance Management : Handle cost, schedule, and performance objectives within a program. Manage interdependencies to achieve benefits, partnering with relevant business units to develop business cases

Customer Satisfaction : Ensure understanding of customer value and manage expectations. Organize and motivate teams to support project execution, ensuring technical guidance is followed

Methodology and Execution: Follow sound methodologies and execution practices in line with internal directives and external standards. Organize, monitor, and control activities to meet stage-gates and utilize resources efficiently.

Risk and Opportunity Management : Ensure transparency around change requests, unforeseen events, and risks, managing and communicating them effectively. Capture and act on all opportunities

Coaching and Mentoring : Coach and mentor R&D Project Managers, support professional development, and share lessons learned

Stakeholder Communication : Serve as the key contact for stakeholders, escalating issues as needed. Communicate information effectively to achieve understanding and support

Partnership and Coordination : Partner with business managers, steering committees, product management, and external parties. Coordinate activities with product and business management

Process Development : Develop and implement project management requirements, processes, methods, tools, handbooks, and guidelines
Your Background
-
Education : minimum master’s degree in engineering or applied sciences

Experience : over 3 years of project management experience, preferably in R&D or related fields. Experience with transformers and product development is a plus.

Skills : knowledge and experience with project management tools, including gate models
-
Languages : fluent in spoken and written English.

Communication : excellent communication, coaching, and conflict resolution skills. Teamwork experience in international settings with strong interpersonal skills

Mobility : willingness to lead international R&D projects within the transformers organization
