Senior System and Network Specialist (AVD)

Summary

This position as Senior System and Network Specialist will be part of a transversal organization, Digital Transformation Services, and under the Corporate Platform Services in Digital Workplace Services umbrella organization.

This position is responsible for VDI and AVD services. The engineer contributes to the platform design, implementation, monitoring, and support.

We are currently migrating out of our legacy on-premise VMWare Horizon VDI to Azure Virtual Desktop. The Sytem engineer role plays a key part to ensure RUN / GROW / Transformation activities are well managed and delivered on time.

In addition, the role will be responsible to liaise with our business partners / customers in Europe / NORAM region to have a near follow the sun approach when it comes to service visibility and management.

Primary responsibilities :

End to end responsibility of Azure Virtual Desktop and VMWare Horizon platform

Design, implement and support Virtualization Desktop solution based on business requirements

Maintain existing infrastructure and solutions

Proactive monitoring of the AVD services

Main accountabilities and activities :

Able to design and adjust architecture to meet the business needs

Participate in solution designs, architecture, and analysis

Implement AVD solution with proper documentation

Implement group policies and conditional access for AVD

Implement scripts (in Powershell) for AVD Automation

Troubleshoot and support as level 3 solution owner

Rapid response to the relevant incidents

Collaborative projects when there’s dependencies on AVD

Operational readiness :

Responsible to provide documentation and training to operation teams

Responsible to provide support materials to Change and Knowledge Management teams

Responsible to manage and update RACI to relevant parties

Collaboration Activities :

Participate in collaborative projects with other service owners (within PMS, EUS, SDS, etc)

Monitor update weekly activities, align CRs with proper input according to DWS guidelines and LPM

Participate and provide input for Long-Term Strategies to management (typically up to 3-4 years in the future) relating to responsible service areas

The ideal candidate

3 years in Desktop Virtualization platform (Azure Virtual Desktop / VMWare Horizon) and experience in Windows ecosystem (AD, GPO and etc)

Understand network and firewall

3+ years in supporting macOS in mixed Mac and Windows environment

Additional working knowledge in Intune, Powershell scripting

Experience with and working in multicultural environment

Excellent communication skills
