IPEG is hiring a data engineer to design and build big data systems for analyzing geospatial data. You will be working directly with economists and researchers leading the lab, in a fast-paced environment. You should:- Be fluent in Python and Scala.- Have loads of experience with Spark or some other Hadoop-based batch analysis systems.- Show knowledge of the current state-of-the-art in open-source distributed computing applications and be comfortable picking the right tools for the tasks.- Previous experience working with AWS or other cloud providers to run distributed applications.- Be comfortable in setting up a private cloud to run distributed batch-analysis programs.- Be interested in geospatial data.
