Real Estate Manager – Early Stage Startup

We have the ultimate part time role in which you will work on the launch of a new real estate company focussed on students and young professionals in the growing European market.

It comes with a base salary, attractive bonus structure and stock options.

Young Collective is the umbrella organization above a collection of products focused on connecting millions of like-minded students by combining technology and social instinct. Whether it is new students connecting in online communities or at an offline event on a rooftop in the city, we are behind the wheel. We mastered building online communities that connect students, and the products that we create all serve the needs of this audience.

This summer, we are launching a new real estate product in the Netherlands, France, Germany, Spain, Hungary, and Latvia. In a nutshell we are renting properties with at least 4 bedrooms for 5 – 10 years, refurbish them, and sub-rent these to students and young professionals in our database.

For our local team, we are seeking someone who can take the lead in the sourcing of new apartments, and the local coordination of refurbishment and property management.

The Job:

In this role, you will work alongside the founding team. You are close to the action and in for a ride of a lifetime in terms of experience, achievement, and compensation potential.

You will support and partly manage all facets of the product launch with a focus on sourcing apartments, and property management. You will be responsible for building and developing new partnerships with local agencies and brokers (all sizes, from small to big ones), sourcing, visiting and acquiring apartments that meet our apartment criteria. You will also drive all lease negotiations and agreements with them. Next to that you will oversee the refurbishment and property management along our central team.

We see our partnership as something that can evolve from a parttime commitment and a profit share, in a very lucrative business model, to a cooperation in which you are the foundation of our local office when we scale.

Responsibilities:

• Create a consistent supply pipeline of apartments that meet our standards.
• Build a strong network with local agencies and residential real estate brokers.
• Acquire and drive negotiations of long-term leases of high-quality apartments in desirable locations.
• Party responsible for the property management, our support team handles incoming requests, however when action is needed you will be contacted.
• Oversee the refurbishment of the apartments, do quality checks and progress updates.

What we are looking for:

• The ability to work in a fast paced environment and juggle multiple priorities.
• You have at least 2+ years of experience working in real estate (residential or property development).
• Excellent communication skills in Spanish and English, both verbal and written.
• Strong network and knowledge in residential real estate (a plus for agency connections).
• Flexible, resilient, and content with ambiguity and changes.
• Comfortable performing in a start-up environment.
• Skilled negotiator and relationship manager.
