Spain Senior Access & Connection Technician

Location: Getxo, ES

MISSION

Reporting to the Grid Connection Manager , the Senior Access & Connection Technician is integrated in the Strategic Development Area. You will be responsible for exploring opportunities for access and connection in the transportation and distribution network, and modifying them once obtained, maintaining continuous contact with the system operator until the effective connection of the plants. Processing documentation for Public Administrations and network operators.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analysis of electric substations with potential grid connection.
• Study on new development opportunities.
• Analysis of publications for available capacity in the network (REE&Distributors).
• Study on the technical feasibility of access and connection rights.
• Management of all the grid connection of the company in Spain and for new grid connection requests (+50 projects).
• Submission of all the grid connection of the company in Spain.
• Coordination with Red Eléctrica de España (REE) and the main Spanish distributors at a technical level.
• Collaborate in the detection of new opportunities (multi-technology).
• Issue of guarantees and bonds.
• Facilitate the technical analysis of substations owned by REE for physical connection.
• Draft connection agreements with the system operator.
• Management and submission of grid connection conflicts CNMC or regions depending the case.
• Active participation in the preparation capacity tenders.
• Execution of PV basic projects.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Engineering (electrical).
• At least 2 years of experience in grid connection requests.
• Knowledge of the Spanish transportation and distribution network.
• Familiarity with electrical legislation.
• Technical competence in renewable energy design knowledge.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCad.
